About this Presentation:

Sleep is an important element of our wellbeing and is one of the pillars of a healthy body and mind. With increasing levels of stress, there is a significant burden of sleep problems. In this session, Dr. Thimmapuram will discuss the benefits of healthy sleep patterns and also share some of his research work on sleep and meditative practices. In addition, there will also be a brief experiential session on relaxation and meditation.

About our Presenter:

Thimmapuram

Dr. Jayaram Thimmapuram is an academic hospitalist at WellSpan York Hospital where he primarily focuses on educating and mentoring internal medicine residents. After obtaining Membership of Royal College of Physicians in the United Kingdom, he moved to the United States and completed his residency training at WellSpan York Hospital, and he provides care to patients admitted with various health conditions involving cardiac problems, neurological, infectious, gastrointestinal and respiratory issues. He has a special interest in research and has several articles published in reputed medical journals. He is a recipient of Gold Humanism Award, Outstanding teacher of the year and Resident of the year awards. Dr. Thimmapuram is an international speaker on the benefits of meditation, with multiple presentations done on health and wellbeing topics to public, patients, and health care professionals. He also presented at the international day of yoga meeting in New Jersey organized by the Consulate General of India in collaboration with the United Nations, and is a TEDX speaker.
