Evidence is mounting that the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly reduced cancer screening vigilance and is resulting in delays in diagnosing cancers. The later the stage of cancer diagnosis, the worse the patient's prognosis and the higher the treatment cost.

The Greater Philadelphia Business Coalition on Health, the Pittsburgh Business Group on Health, the Lehigh Valley Business Coalition on Healthcare, and the Central Penn Business Group on Health are partnering to raise employer awareness about the cancer screening crisis and, with our members, mobilize effective outreach to the workforce.

This webinar will briefly review epidemiologic and economic data about preventable cancers, and discuss relative risks of cancer in relation to COVID-19, making the case for stepping up efforts to help employees access age- and gender-appropriate cancer screening. We’ll also have a roundtable discussion with representatives of employer, provider, payer, and public health organizations to identify best practices for promoting cancer screenings.

** Upon registering, you should receive an e-mail from Eventbrite confirming your registration and including the Zoom link for the event. If you don't, please check your spam folder, or contact ecroft@gpbch.org to request the link directly. **

The program is being supported by Genentech and the Pennsylvania coalitions.
