Cancer Care in a Pandemic Environment; People, Science and Protocols for Safe Treatment and Positive Outcomes
It is no secret that the Covid-19 pandemic has had a substantial impact on healthcare delivery in our region. In response, many transitioned from in-person care to virtual care to minimize exposure to the virus. For one vulnerable population, a transition to virtual care is not entirely possible. So how does one go about getting a diagnosis and treatment while also staying safe during the Covid-19 pandemic?
Join us for this important event focused on addressing these issues. Hear from a panel of local experts as we explore care concerns and treatment protocols.
Learning Objectives for this event include:
A. Understanding of the science of COVID-19 and its impact on cancer care (from the start of the pandemic thru today)
B. An Overview of what cancer care looks like during the Covid-19 Pandemic
C. Opportunities for Clinical Trials during the pandemic
D. An explanation of daily operations and patient interactions within the caregiving cycle
E. Cybersecurity – what it is and why it matters
The educational resources for this event will be provided by Lancaster Cancer Center, LG Health and Penn State Health Medical Group.
